Chris Evans Just Announced When His Top Gear Will Premiere

No, Clarkson won't be making a cameo.

Top Gear is about to get a major reboot, courtesy of Jeremy Clarkson punching a man in the face earlier this year. New host Chris Evans has just announced that the new Top Gear, season 23, will premiere on May 8, 2016 but will be recorded on May 5. He also confirmed that filming is now underway for the show and that he and his new team will be traveling to the US in January to record footage. Evans also made clear that The Stig will still very much be a part of the show. Will Evans have a pair of co-hosts?

Will there be alternating co-host(s)? Will the new TG format be able to compete with what Clarkson, Hammond, and May are now doing on Amazon? All those questions will be answered in good time and hopefully we’ll learn more details as the BBC gets closer to airing its re-booted Top Gear.
