While we await word on what Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May will do next, newly installed Top Gear host, Chris Evans, has admitted that his new gig is going to be the biggest challenge of his professional career. For the first time since landing his new gig, Evans is now revealing some interesting behind-the-scenes moments. For example, he said he had to be persuaded to take the job, but he ultimately decided to do it in just 20 minutes.

Commenting on the TG hosting job itself, Evans stated that "This is, without doubt, the most challenging thing I have ever done in my career. When I took over Terry's (Wogan) show, people kept saying I had 'big shoes to fill,' and they're saying it again now." Evans' TFI Friday sidekick, Will MacDonald, persuaded him to take the TG offer. "I talked to Will and he said, 'Why would you not do this?' So, 20 minutes later I phoned back and said, 'Yeah, I'll do it.' " So, what elements of the old TG, like the Stig and a Star in a Reasonably Priced Car, will stick around? "Nothing has to stay but some things will. I can't tell you what precisely but it'd be silly to throw the baby out with bath water," Evans stated.
