Chrome car wraps are always a risky idea, especially when done on supercars costing hundreds of thousands of dollars. Covering a car meant to tear up the track in the summer sun in a blinding chrome wrap is dangerous to say the least. Still, there's no denying the awesomeness of a chromed-out car that can do nearly 200 mph. So we've compiled a list of some of the most desirable chromed out supercars. They may not be your cup of tea, but they're certainly interesting.

This may very well be the only chrome Ford GT in the world. This blindly fast and stylish supercar has been dubbed the Merkury 4 and is covered in Mirrachrome paint. The chrome paint job looks amazing and is the perfect complement to the Merkury 4's tuned 725hp engine.

This chrome Audi R8 Spyder may cause blindness if stared at, but it's all for a good cause. A pair of chrome R8 Spyders was donated to Elton John's AIDS Foundation to be auctioned off. The two cars raised a staggering $988,000 total in cash for Sir. Elton's AIDS efforts.
