As Chrysler continues to rebuild itself under Fiat's watchful eye, the automaker continues to build upon the popularity of their Ram Chassis Cab truck lineup. With full-size pickup sales holding steady, Chrysler Canada is hoping to further capitalize with upgraded Class 4 trucks. The 2012 Ram 4500 and 5500 medium-duty Chassis Commercial trucks will be available with a 30,000 lb Gross Combined Weight Rating, an increase by some 4,000 lbs over the previous model.
The commercial-grade 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel inline-six with 305 hp and 610 lb-ft of torque remains standard for the 4500 and 5500 models. The Ram 3500 Chassis Cab will come standard with the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 that produces 383 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. Both models are specifically designed for towing and countless other duties. Although nothing has been formally announced, we wouldn't be surprised to see these large Ram vehicles making their way to Europe, specifically in developing Eastern European countries.
