There's currently a niche segment that's completely empty in the US auto market. In fact, it's pretty much a dying breed everywhere – even in its native Australia. That would be the Ute, essentially a converted sedan minus the rear doors with a truck bed in their place. There hasn't been a Ute on sale in the US for years. Time to bring it back, but it's gotta be done right. Sadly neither Ford or GM is stepping up to the plate. But Chrysler certainly could if it wanted to.
Rendering artist Theophilus Chin has come up with one of the best, most feasible ideas to date. Take the Chrysler 300 and convert it into a Ute. It's an ideal match. Going a step further, it could easily be equipped with that supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8. A 707 horsepower Ute. Now that would be perfect.
