Last year at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Chrysler revived the Airflow name for the first time since the 1930s. Back then, the Airflow was an aerodynamically advanced sedan. Reflecting the times, the model shown at the technology show was an elegant electric concept called the Airflow Vision.

Earlier this month, an evolved version of the Chrysler Airflow was shown during Stellantis' Software Day presentation previewing the final production design. No details were shared, but we won't have to wait long to find out more because the new Chrysler Airflow concept will debut at the 2022 CES being held in Las Vegas on January 5-8.

Details about the electric crossover are still scarce, but Stellantis says it will be "leading the brand's transformation to clean mobility and seamlessly connected customer experiences." Compared to the concept shown last year, the new Airflow concept looks closer to production. Taking the form of an electric crossover, the Aiflow is an attractive-looking EV with a sleek design and a modern, high-tech interior featuring a fully digital cockpit.

Technical details are still unknown, but we should find out more when the Chrysler Airflow concept debuts next month. We expect the production model to be underpinned by the STLA Medium EV platform, allowing for a dual-motor setup producing around 250 horsepower with all-wheel drive.

When it enters production, the Airflow will face stiff competition from the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Volkswagen ID.4, but we're hoping it will reinvigorate the Chrysler brand, which currently sells the Pacifica minivan and the ancient 300 sedan. At CES, Stellantis will preview the future of its electrification, cockpit, autonomy, and connectivity technology.

Joining the Chrysler Airflow concept at the Stellantis stand will be Citroen Ami urban EV, Citroen Skate Mobility Concept, the new Fiat 500, and the Jeep Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, Wrangler 4xe, and Wagoneer 4xe. If you can't make the show, Stellantis will host a CES 2022 virtual experience on January 5 at 10 am Pacific/1 pm Eastern time.
