Clarkson, May, And Hammond Drive Three Badass Muscle Cars In Detroit

Motoring TV

The test will appear on The Grand Tour season 3.

Filming is currently underway for the third season of Amazon's The Grand Tour. In our current age of social media, it has become impossible for shows as popular as this to keep secrets, and we have already seen footage of the show's hosts driving around Scotland in three old Italian sports cars. Now Clarkson, May, and Hammond have been spotted in Detroit driving three muscle cars. The Grand Tour happened to be filming outside the office of Motor1, who managed to capture footage of the shoot.

Based on the footage, we can tell Clarkson was driving a Ford Mustang RTR, May was driving a Hennessey Camaro Exorcist, and Hammond was behind the wheel of the Dodge Demon. This is truly an interesting comparison test of three incredibly fast muscle cars.

It seems odd that the show decided to test the production SRT Demon against two aftermarket cars from Vaughn Gittin Jr. and John Hennessey. The Demon produces 840 horsepower from a 6.2-liter supercharged V8, while the RTR Mustang makes due with around 700 hp. The biggest wildcard should be the Camaro Exorcist, which produces 1,000 hp. Who better to pilot such a beast than The Grand Tour's Captain Slow?
