Clarkson Reveals Hammond's Crash Causing Chaos To The Grand Tour

The show must go on, right? Of course, but it's not easy.

Brief recap: The Grand Tour co-host Richard Hammond was involved in a fiery crash in an all-electric Rimac Concept One. He barely managed to escape before the flames erupted, but he suffered a broken knee. Because of his injury, production on the show’s second season is now in disarray, according to Jeremy Clarkson in a recent Drivetribe blog post. “As I write, James May is sitting in the hell hole that is Gatwick Airport waiting for a budget airline to take him to a shoot that Hammond should have been doing,” Clarkson begins.

“Meanwhile, I’ve been up since dawn, rewriting all of the scripts and ideas we had to accommodate the fact that Hammond can’t drive for the next few months. Meanwhile, he is lying in bed in the Swiss Alps, while pretty nurses attend to his every need, and give him drugs.” Now that we know what Clarkson and May are doing to keep the show going in their co-host’s absence, what will Hammond do once he’s released from the hospital? “Apparently, he will be back in the office next which is a good thing because we are out of toner for the photocopier, the girl who makes coffee is on holiday and the store rooms needs re-organizing. These, I feel, are jobs he can do on one leg,” Clarkson surmises.
