Classic '37 Ford V8 Coca-Cola Panel Truck for Auction

Classic Cars / Comments

Love classic Fords? Love Coca-Cola? Boy, have we got the truck for you. (Well, RM Auctions does, anyway.)

People collect all kinds of things. Some collect cars, some collect Coca-Cola paraphernalia. This particular vehicle, however, has both types of hoarder covered. Part of the Charlie Thomas collection - a hold of over 150 cars being sold on October 20 in Grapevine, Texas - this 1937 Ford Half-Ton Panel Truck is a nostalgiac's dream. Based on a model 77, this classic panel wagon packs an 85-horsepower 221 cubic-inch V8 engine mated to a three-speed manual transmission.

A sign of its time, it has solid front axle and live rear axle and drum brakes all around. Benefitting from the revised front end and instrument panel of the '37 model, this delivery truck has only one seat. The rest of the interior is all flat floor for easy loading and unloading. Perhaps best of all, it has a full retro Coca-Cola livery that would make it the perfect addition to a collector's home soda-fountain scene. It was awarded Best in Class by the Early Ford V-8 Club, and could be yours for between $40,000 and $60,000 if the pre-sale estimates prove accurate.
