Two enemies unite to create this old school retro masterpiece.
What you're looking at is not a classic Ford Mustang with a fastback body style. Although it looks similar, this beautiful thing is called the Equus Bass770. It's basically an old school muscle car body shell with modern supercar guts. With its horse emblems on the front grille and rear decklid, it purposely looks like an old Mustang, but underneath its hood lies GM's 6.2-liter supercharged LS9 V8, the same engine that powers the Corvette ZR1.
All told, the Bass770 has 638 horsepower and 604 lb-ft of torque, with all of that power being sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed dual-clutch. This excellent short does a top notch job of showing this monster in action.
Equus claims a 0-60 mph time of just 3.4 seconds. Also sourced from GM is Magnetic Ride Control. Inside you'll find plenty of retro gauges and an old school ball shift knob. But instead of metal, the dashboard is decked out in fine black leather and Alcantara. Like what you're seeing? How can't you? But with a price ranging from $250,000-$300,000, the Equus Bass770 is anything but cheap. Judging by its looks and performance alone, it certainly seems worth every penny.
