It's not at all unusual to see a classic Porsche 911 on the road from time to time, but to see one in this state is quite horrific. According to New Hampshire's Union Leader, this 1967 911's 60 year-old owner was driving it last weekend on a scenic stretch of highway in the middle of the afternoon. Because he was going too fast, he lost control when he came to a section of "S" curves and the car went off the side of the road, scraped a telephone poll and then hit a tree head-on.

Fortunately, the driver had his seatbelt on but was in serious condition with head and neck injuries, though he will survive. The 911, on the other hand, is a complete loss. And judging by these images, it's incredible that someone survived at all, especially in a car that's almost 50 years old.
