They were going at each other's throats even back in the 1960s. The Chevrolet Corvette and Porsche 911 are two longtime competitors that have dominated the sports car market for decades. Each has their deeply loyal share of fans. Those who love one car often despise the other. 911 fans see the Corvette as unrefined and made of plastic, while Corvette people only think of the 911 has a more powerful VW Beetle. Both cars have remained popular and in production to this day.
