Clint Eastwood's son, Scott Eastwood, has joined the cast of "Furious 8." The announcement was made on the franchise's Twitter page and comes a week after the series revealed that Oscar-winner Charlize Theron had come aboard. Unlike Theron, who will be playing a villain, Eastwood is locked in as a good guy. The caption that accompanied Eastwood's photo read in part: "Kurt Russell's Mr. Nobody has a new protégé." Russell was the shadowy government agent from "Furious 7" and it's more than okay if you forgot his character entirely.

The big question is how large a role will the younger Eastwood have in this movie? There are so many damn people in this movie that it's going to be hard for director F. Gary Gray to find screen time for all of them. Eastwood doesn't exactly have as large a profile as most of the other cast members, so we expect his role to be small to start. If Kurt Russell dies in "Furious 8" for some reason-because why not-then Eastwood could get more screen time in films nine and 10. Either way it'll be interesting to see how he fits into the ever-expanding crew and the overall story.
