On the eve of the German Grand Prix in Hockenheim, Mercedes-Benz presented its new CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake to the world. Accompanied by a gaggle of gorgeous models and F1 drivers David Coulthard, Mika Hakkinen, Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg, the powerful Mercedes wagon bowed to the public for the first time and stole the show. Pictured here in Edition 1 trim, the new AMG model boasts 557 horsepower.

5.The muscle is laid down by a 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine mated to a Speedshift MCT 7-speed transmission and AMG's Ride Control suspension. Mercedes AMG chairman Ola Kallenius remarked that "The CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake is establishing a completely new vehicle segment and is expected to delight new customers just as much as existing AMG enthusiasts. The exciting combination of performance, style and usability is unique." The CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake is scheduled to launch in October of this year.

The standard model starts with slightly less-powerful 525hp version of the 5.5-litre V8 biturbo priced in Germany at €117,512, while the top-of-the-line Edition 1 with the more powerful engine commands €128,639. Alongside the Shooting Brake, AMG also brought out its new G-Wagen and SL roadster for display at the show. We'll let you be the judge of which was the most enticing model on the catwalk.
