Ever since the Ram 1500 TRX was unleashed with its 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 pumping out 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, all eyes have been on the new Ford F-150 Raptor. The next-generation Ford F-150 Raptor will make its debut in just a couple of weeks on February 3, but a leaked order guide shared by the F150Gen14.com forum has revealed new details before the official reveal.
According to the leaked guide, the 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor will once again be offered with a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, which was notably absent in the next-generation F-150 lineup.
In the current model, this unit develops 450 hp and 510 lb-ft of torque, but we're expecting the new unit to have around 500 hp. But what about the long-rumored V8 version? Allegedly, this version will use the same supercharged V8 from the Mustang Shelby GT500 to take on the TRX.
While the V8 variant isn't shown on the leaked order guide, that doesn't mean it won't be offered. We've already heard new F-150 Raptor prototypes roar with the unmistakable sound of a V8. Reports have also claimed the more powerful V8 will be one of two engine options alongside the more affordable V6 to suit different budgets and requirements. Since it isn't on the order guide, the V8-powered Raptor could arrive at a later date, but Ford won't want Ram to steal all the spotlight for long.
The order guide also confirms the new Raptor will ride on 17-inch wheels and be available in the following exterior colors: Agate Black, Antimatter Blue, Code Orange, Iconic Silver, Lead Foot, Oxford White, Rapid Red Tint, and Velocity Blue.
Additional details about the upcoming F-150 Tremor trim have also been uncovered in a leaked order guide, confirming it will have off-road tuned suspension, a Tremor-specific exhaust, a wider track, a raised ride height, and increased travel. A unique grille with a black Ford oval and orange accent, a unique hood with heat extractors, and Tremor badging will also set it apart.
