Ferrari Land will include the tallest and fastest vertical accelerator in Europe.
Following its first company-themed resort in Abu Dhabi that opened four years ago, a new Ferrari theme park has just been confirmed for Barcelona, Spain. While the Italian company won’t be directly involved in the park’s design or operation – it has simply provided a license to use its name and logo – the park will be centered on the automaker’s heritage and should be extremely awesome. It will be built within the existing PortAventura resort, covering 800,000 square feet.
Among the attractions in the park, visitors will find the tallest and fastest vertical accelerator in Europe, a Ferrari-themed five-star hotel, restaurants and a driving simulator. “After the success of Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, we received many, many requests to develop new amusement parks”, said head of Ferrari branding, Andrea Perrone. The park will be up and running in 2016, and promises to “bring the magic of Ferrari to Spain.”
