Should anyone be in the least bit surprised?
You certainly wouldn't be alone in thinking that a Chevrolet Corvette being a part of a fleet of firefighting vehicles is unusual. But that's exactly what's been done in Dubai. A new 2014 Corvette Stingray has just joined the fleet, proof of which can be seen in these photos. Don't think it's undergone any drastic structural changes in order to handle any sort of firefighting equipment. Instead, it's been given a custom fluorescent paint job and emergency lights on the roof; it won't be putting out fires anytime soon, or like never.
But it will definitely be useful in its role as an emergency vehicle by getting its occupants to the scene quickly in order to perform first aid or bring vital life-saving materials. Along with Dubai's police already having a Ferrari FF, Lamborghini Aventador and an Aston Martin One-77 in its fleet, this latest addition shouldn't come as a shock to anyone and we wonder if a McLaren P1 ambulance is in the works.
