Corvette Stingray’s Dash Cam and Data Recorder Catches Valet Going 50 MPH in Parking Garage

Also records the driver. Moron that he is.

So sure was Chevrolet that valets wouldn’t be able to resist misbehaving in the new C7 Vette, it added a Valet Mode to the Performance Data Recorder, which records video via the rearview mirror-mounted camera. The aim was to prevent Ferris Bueller style joyrides and parking lot mishaps – just like this one. OK, so no damage was actually done to the owner’s brand new ride here, but hitting 50 mph in a garage was a pretty irresponsible move on the part of the valet. Almost as dumb as walking in front of the camera.

The incident went down at Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, California, so be wary of handing over your keys if you happen to be heading there. Scratch that, just park your own damn car wherever you go. Don't say you haven't been warned.
