Crashing a Subaru Impreza with Style and Grace

Crash / 17 Comments

A trio of siblings were finally caught after a week long crime spree that began in Florida and ended in Colorado with a totaled Subaru Impreza.

What could be a better ending to a long and busy week of robbing a bank, an attempted shooting of a police officer, leading a nationwide chase and not even having enough time to spend all that money? Well, for the trio of Dougherty siblings, it would have to be getting caught not too long after crashing their getaway vehicle, a Subaru Impreza. The three siblings were wanted after allegedly shooting at a Florida police car and robbing a south Georgia bank. So much for southern hospitality.

The trio, led by eldest sister Lee Grace, apparently decided they had nothing better to do for the next 20-30 years and robbed a bank. They also did quite a number on their Subaru Impreza getaway car. The Impreza crashed right off the guard rail after a 20 mile chase along I-25 with speeds going over 100 mph. The trio of bandits made their voyage all the way out west to Colorado before they were eventually nabbed by state troopers. The three did manage to spend some of their money on a tent they bought from a sporting goods store. Sounds like a high-class lifestyle to us.

They could have at least had the Impreza tuned by Project Kahn (yep, we had to insert them in somewhere). The Dougherty Gang had been at large for over a week and made their way to Colorado all the way from Georgia, with a few stops along the way in Tennessee and Texas. At least we can say that the Subaru Impreza can sure hold its own ground when traveling long distances.
