The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution met a tragic demise when the Japanese carmaker decided to reposition itself as a crossover-focused manufacturer. Despite the performance sedan's absence, fans around the globe continue to show love and support for its heritage. This particular model currently being sold in the UK is an example that this group would lose their minds over.

This 2000 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6 RSX is currently selling for £45,000 ($61,000) at Piston Heads, which is a pretty sweet deal when you learn that it is one of just 30 cars ever produced, 10 of which were painted in Satellite Silver. What makes the RSX so special, other than its limited run, is it directly benefited from developments made in 1999 by RalliArt UK. This is a historic division that is making somewhat of a return to the world.

Why is that such a big deal? This was the very year in which Tommi Makinen took to the WRC with a rally-spec Lancer Evo 6 and won. That significant amount of street cred is joined by the removal of the ABS and Anti Yaw Control for a pure and unfiltered driving experience. This is complemented by plated differentials, a shorter steering ratio, titanium turbo impellers, 30 additional spot welds on the body shell, and a special set of Recaro SR seats.

Compared to the standard Mitsubishi Lancer GSR Evo 6, this car is 176 lbs lighter. This particular unit was built in 1999 and then registered the following year to a Hong Kong-based lawyer. Soon after taking delivery, the car was given an extensive amount of RalliArt-approved modifications.

This consists of a three-point strut brace, Proflex suspension with external reservoirs, six-piston AP performance brakes, an ECUTEX upgrade, a three-inch HKS exhaust system with a Janspeed sports catalytic converter, HKS intake, and an ARP bolt kit. To give it a more exclusive look, the owner also fitted a set of wheels from the Evo 7.

After 14-years of ownership, the car was sold to Jon Kirkham who has been credited for establishing RalliArt UK. It was then sold to the current owner in April 2017 who was looked after the car with great care. The RSX has had no expense spared when it comes to maintenance and all documentation is provided with the sale.
