Cult Classic Showdown: Chevy Corvair Vs. Pontiac Fiero

Comparison / Comments

These unique classics still enjoy a loyal following.

They were two cars considered unconventional for their respective times. And yet to this day they're still loved by many. The Chevrolet Corvair and Pontiac Fiero were rear- and mid-engined cars, respectively, which didn't exactly fit the mold at the time of their reveals. Neither one was perfect, each with their fair share of issues, but they were definitely unique. On this latest episode of Generation Gap, the hosts compare a 1967 Corvair Monza Convertible to an 1986 Pontiac Fiero SE.

The Corvair was considered "Unsafe at Any Speed" (thanks, Ralph Nader) while the Fiero had a habit of catching fire. So which of these two cult classics is more distinctive and worthy of a place in US auto history? Check out the video ahead.
