As US buyers eagerly await the arrival of Maserati's new Grecale compact crossover, all-electric Gran Turismo replacement, and MC20 supercar, it's hard to remain excited about the automaker's existing product line. Maserati has thrown out a colorful special edition here or there, but the core lineup remains mostly unchanged heading into the 2022 model year. To keep customers interested, Maserati will add three new special edition models as part of its Fuoriserie (custom-built in Italian) program.

The 2022 Maserati Ghibli Trofeo, the 2022 Maserati Quattroporte Trofeo, and the 2022 Maserati Levante Trofeo will all receive Fuoriserie versions (pictured below). Each car packs a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged Ferrari-sourced V8 under the hood, spinning out 580 horsepower.

Shown above, the Quattroporte Trofeo comes finished in Verde Royale Metallic paint, with 21-inch dark Orione forged wheels. The interior features sports seats wrapped in Zegna Pelletessuta (woven leather) with gloss carbon macro twill trim. As for the Ghibli Trofeo, it features a Blu Maserati paint scheme with historic Birdcage Livery. The Levante Trofeo is pictured below wearing Orange Zest Metallic paint with 22-inch Orione wheels. Inside, it boasts pieno fiore black leather with living coral color contrast stitching and gloss carbon-fiber interior trim.

Of course, these are just sample colors chosen by Maserati. Customers who participate in the Fuoriserie program can customize their cars to their liking. If your pockets are deep enough, Maserati will offer any number of stripes, patterns, and color combinations.

Maserati says it will offer three made-to-measure collections for the Ghibli, Levante, and Quattroporte called Corse, Unica, and Futura. The Corse Collection is dedicated to Maserati's racing heritage with a focus on historically accurate colors and original components. Unica is based on the latest trends in fashion, art, and culture, forecasting next year's color and material trends. Futura allows customers to experiment through technological innovation, using unique materials from design, sportswear, and interior decor industries.

We expect pricing for all 2022 Maserati vehicles to be announced at a later date.
