The McLaren 600LT Spider is McLaren's most extreme Sports Series car yet. And Pikes Peak is the most extreme hill climb in the world. Put together, the two have inspired McLaren Denver to commission a special batch of McLaren 600LT Spiders dubbed the 'Pikes Peak Collection.'

Designed by McLaren's Special Operations division, each of the six cars in the collection feature a unique MSO Bespoke or MSO Heritage paint job, including Black Gold, White Gold, Nerello Red, Volcano Red, Aurora Blue, and Midas Grey. These finishes are complemented with a gold and matte black vinyl stripe over the hood and roof, as well as Satin Speedline Gold Wheels.

Inside, each bespoke sports car boasts a Satin Gold center band on the steering wheel, Satin Gold extended paddle shifters, and gold contrast stitching. The Pikes Peak logo is embroidered in gold in the headrest pad, and a dedication plaque reading "Pikes Peak Collection 1 of 6" is also included. Further enhancing the special 600LT Spiders is an included MSO Club Sport Pack, which adds carbon fiber cantrails, carbon fiber front fender louvres and titanium wheel bolts, as well as the Super-Lightweight Carbon Fibre Racing seats found in the McLaren Senna.

"It's really special for us to be able to offer a car like the 600LT Spider, which is already quite special itself with its Longtail heritage, and tie it into Pikes Peak, a race that is so significant to Colorado residents, as well as the racing community globally," said Mike Ward, owner of McLaren Denver. "Six very lucky customers will be the proud owners of these amazing McLaren 600LT Spiders, and we can't wait to see them on the road and on the track in Colorado."

Like any other 600LT Spider, each car in the Pikes Peak Collection is powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that produces 592 horsepower and 457 lb-ft of torque. 0-62 mph takes just 2.8 seconds, and the fixed rear wing can generate 220.5 pounds of downforce at 155 mph. Pricing for the McLaren 600LT Spider starts at $256,500, but volume is limited so it's likely to sell out fast.

"In addition to offering personalization, MSO offers customers and retailers the unique opportunity to be heavily involved in limited production commissions. We are thrilled that McLaren Denver has created a special, market specific commission based on the 600LT Spider. These types of commission projects are becoming an important part of our business and it highlights the continued engagement of the dealer network and customers," said McLaren North America boss, Tony Joseph.
