After finishing 2020 with its best sales year ever, Bentley will continue to deliver exuberant luxury to its customers in 2021. Building ultra-luxury cars may not be the most environmentally-friendly endeavor, but Bentley has made its production more efficient, even installing bee conservations in its factory. Bentley has also announced plans to go all-electric by 2030 in an effort to lower its carbon footprint.

The company's latest announcement is less groundbreaking but still pretty cool. As the pandemic is still impacting the global auto market, Bentley will now offer a new way for owners to customize their vehicles. The new Digital Commissioning Experience will allow customers to order their unique models from the comfort of their own homes.

This digital service will offer Bentley owners the same customer service they've come to expect, including one-to-one online car immersion sessions, individual video handovers, and digital commissioning appointments. When ordering a new model like a 2021 Bentley Flying Spur, customers have access to over 10 billion possible configurations, including some new tweed interiors that were announced last year.

"Since the pandemic struck, we have had to take the ownership experience to a different level. Our Digital Commissioning Experience maintains the personal relationship through digital channels and helps our customers navigate through the extensive Bentley options, alongside one of our trained experts. At the same time, ensuring a Covid safe and compliant experience from the very beginning, until they drive their tailored Bentley for the very first time," says Sarah Simpson, Regional Director, UK, at Bentley Motors.

Customers no longer have to visit a dealership to create the custom Bentley of their dreams. Keeping customers out of dealerships is just a small way that Bentley wants to help the spread of Covid. After each car is completed in Crewe, Bentley gives them full sanitization and protection, ensuring that they are safe when owners take delivery.

Many fans of the brand will already be familiar with the online configurator, but traditionally, the levels of luxury associated with buying a Bentley necessitate one-on-one design consultations so that each and every product is truly bespoke. The digital experience may stop the spread of COVID, but we can't help but feel it'll lose some of the exclusive feel.
