This previously unseen concept, dubbed the UFC, has been prepared by Daihatsu's Indonesian subsidiary Astra Daihatsu Motors (ADM) to wow the crowds at this week's 20th Indonesia International Motor Show in Jakarta. Fighting fans will be gutted to hear that the UFC design study does not stand for Ultimate Fighting Championship, but Ultra Functional Compact. The crossover concept apparently came about after ADM "carefully studied customers' needs in Indonesia."

The UFC boasts seating for six people in two rows of three on a long wheelbase with short front and rear overhangs. The seats can be endlessly rearranged, accessed through conventional front doors and sliding rear doors that, without a B-pillar, makes getting in and out the car a cinch - much like the new Ford B-Max. Daihatsu failed to comment on the concept's powertrain but did say that the car "is surprisingly convenient and can be used in a range of living conditions in Indonesia." Reports suggest that if the UFC does make it to production, it would likely come as a seven-seater. Styling cues are expected to be borrowed by Daihatsu's next-gen production models.
