David Beckham is the new face of Maserati. After becoming the Italian automaker's brand ambassador, the former soccer star appeared in a promotional video showing off his driving skills by doing donuts in a Maserati Levante under a freeway overpass. In this latest video, we get to see David Beckham take the Maserati MC20 for a spin at the Modena race track in Italy to give the mid-engine supercar his seal of approval.

It's safe to say he's smitten, describing the MC20 as the "perfect car" and "one of the best cars I've ever driven." As a brand ambassador, Beckham also worked closely with Maserati's personalization team to design his dream MC20. The stylish result is called the MC20 Fuoriserie Edition for David Beckham.

Designed by Maserati's Fuoriserie customization division, David Beckham's unique MC20 is inspired by his love of Miami, the home of his US soccer club, and is painted in colors matching the team's black and pink theme. The bodywork is finished in gloss black with contrasting Trident logos on the grille and the C-pillar features a black opaque finish. Elsewhere, the Maserati lettering on the rear of the car is opaque, while the MC20 door badge and Brembo brake calipers are painted in pastel pink.

The soccer theme continues inside the interior, which is trimmed in black leather and Alcantara with pink contrast stitching, while the headrests are embroidered with a pastel pink three-dimensional design. In a personal touch, a nameplate has been added to the center console with the lettering "For David" in an aluminum effect along with pink Maserati Furiserie lettering.

Like all MC20s, the Fuoriserie Edition for David Beckham is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 producing 621 horsepower and 538 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

"As car designers, our mission is to offer a holistic experience. This value guides our brand's stylistic research, making each Maserati uniquely recognizable," said Klaus Busse, Head of Maserati Design. "Our customization program is another example of our brand's goal to create singular experiences for our customers: Maserati Fuoriserie is a blank canvas, on which Maserati clients can write their own stories and unleash their creativity, making their dreams come true. Designing this special edition MC20 with David, as with all our Fuoriserie projects, is also an ode to the brand's past, taking us back to a time when every car was hand-built to the client's requests, giving life to a one-off, a true 'fuoriserie.'"

David Beckham commented: "I have always been a car enthusiast, so to be part of designing and creating my MC20 through the Fuoriserie customization program has been an amazing experience. Cars are about individual taste whether it's the model, color or small personal details on the inside. It has been incredible to collaborate with the Maserati team and designers to create this one-off car that is inspired by my second home, Miami and my football club there. It is a joy to be behind the wheel."
