Looking like a classic Aston Martin, the David Brown Automotive Speedback brings back memories of James Bond and the classic Aston generation. And with the name of its founder identical to that of the epic owner of the company, it seems legit too. Well, the Speedback, which was just unveiled in England, does have some classy English underpinnings, but not exactly what you'd expect. David Brown is a different rich Englishman, and this new car is actually based on the Jaguar XKR.

The David Brown Automotive Speedback is fitted with Jaguar's 5.0-liter V-8, producing 510 horsepower and 461 lb-ft of torque. With a six-speed ZF automatic, it is expected to sprint from 0-60mph in approximately 4.6-seconds. A "vision of a classic-looking sports car without compromising modern convenience and features", the hand-built car is geared at aging gentlemen who want the flair of the past, performance of the present and a $400,000 hole in their pocket. But for those buyers, it actually has a lot to offer.
