2014 Festival of Speed starts Thursday.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed kicks of this weekend, and as this year's leading marque Mercedes-Benz will have a stunning array of vehicles on show at Lord March's estate. The German carmaker will also be taking on the famous hillclimb, something brand ambassador David Coulthard talks us through in this latest promo clip while driving the sumptuous Mercedes SLS AMG Black Series. The course record was set by another former F1 driver, Nick Heidfeld, who posted a time of 41.6 seconds back in 1999.
Although he has a 622-hp 6.2-liter V8-powered Benz at his disposal that can shift from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds, Coulthard takes it relatively easy while ascending the hill. This weekend will see far more committed runs made as drivers attempt to break the 15-year-old record.
