There's a rumor circulating the internet that the Scion iQ will not be reaching U.S. shores anytime soon. The mini-hatchback was originally set to come to the United States by March 2011, but according to GreenCarReports.com, the city car may not arrive until sometime this summer. There's speculation that this is due to production and marketing delays. Scion previously stated that it wants to give the 2011 tC enough time to have the stage to itself without competing against the iQ.
Also, the company states that the first prototypes from Japan were a few months late in arriving, adding to the delay and pushing back of the production schedule. In the meantime, consumers will have to wait a few more months for the iQ, and who knows, maybe the car will show up labeled a 2012 in the end.
