At CarBuzz we constantly poke fun at the Subaru BRZ. It's not that we don't like the sports car. On the contrary, we think it's awesome but like everyone else we wish it had more oomph. Apparently the president and COO of Subaru America, Tom Doll, feels the same way. In an interview with Autoline TV, Doll laid out his feelings on the BRZ and its future. While he didn't exactly come out and scream for more horsepower it isn't too tough to read between the lines.

"There's a place for the BRZ in our product lineup. We may have to do some things to it to enhance the driving performance a little more; take it up a little bit. Because I think that's one of the learnings we've seen out of that vehicle, if it had a little bit more performance to it, it could really take up the sales level even more." The most notable thing to "take up" would be the horsepower, or the torque, or both! As for the future of the BRZ, Doll said it depends largely on what Toyota does. Toyota just signed a partnership with Mazda to share technology, so Subaru's future with the Japanese auto giant could be a bit cloudy.
