Say Hello To The Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320: Ready To Run The Quarter Mile In 11.7 Seconds

Reveal

Dodge claims it’s the fastest street-legal naturally-aspirated muscle car in the world.

The

Dodge Challenger SRT Demon may no longer be in production

, but if you still want a Challenger that can tear up the drag strip Dodge has just unveiled the 2019 Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320, which is designed to do just that. And it’s somehow still road legal. Named after the quarter-mile distance in feet, the Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 features a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine under the hood that produces 485 hp and 475 lb-ft torque mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with a class-exclusive TransBrake. While the engine has been carried over from the

Challenger R/T Scat Pack

, the 1320 variant borrows an assortment of drag racing tech from the Demon including an SRT-tuned Adaptive Damping Suspension with Drag Mode, Line Lock, TransBrake, Torque Reserve, and extreme-duty 41-spline half shafts.

Furthermore, the model features Brembo brakes and rides on 20-inch forged aluminum wheels wrapped in specially developed Nexen SUR4G Drag Spec street-legal drag radial tires that deliver maximum grip and repeatable quarter-mile times. As standard, it only comes with a driver’s seat, but a passenger seat and rear bench can be installed for an extra $1. Other unique flourishes include new “Angry Bee” logos and 1320 badging on the air vents surrounds. While the focus is clearly on drag racing, the car still comes equipped with dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry, park assist and an 8.4-inch Uconnect infotainment system.
