With a little help from a set of drag radial tires.
So the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 can go from 0-60 mph in 2.95 seconds. That’s damn impressive. However, another source is claiming that, under certain conditions, the new Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat will make the ferocious leap to 60 in just 2.9 seconds. In order for that time to happen, the Charger SRT Hellcat needs to be wearing a set of drag radial tires. Continuing to do so will allow the world’s fastest production sedan to run the quarter mile in 10.7 seconds. For comparison, the Challenger SRT Hellcat can do it in 11.2 seconds with stock tires.
Torquenews further reports that when equipped with the stock tires, the Charger SRT Hellcat is officially capable of running an elapsed time of 11 seconds flat. Yep, that’s still faster than the Challenger SRT Hellcat. Both coupe and sedan were equipped with the same drivetrain: the Hellcat Hemi V8 and an eight-speed automatic gearbox. At 4,500 lbs, the Charger SRT Hellcat is just an incredible thing, to say the least.
