Earlier this week we got wind that several people who placed an order for a 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat were facing an unexpected setback. Those who checked the box for the optional satin-black hood were informed their orders were delayed until at least February. If, however, they wanted to adjust their order for a body-color hood, then their Challenger Hellcat would arrive much sooner. So what's the problem here?

Dodge isn't saying exactly, but it has confirmed that the satin-black hood "is not currently available for production." Will it ever be? Who knows. It's a damn shame because that hood really gave the Hellcat a special look, helping to distinguish it from the less powerful Challenger models. For those who must have this paint scheme, we're sure it won't be a problem to find a paint shop somewhere that'll happily oblige.
