Last year, the Dodge Durango SRT stormed the three-row SUV market as the most powerful and capable model in its class. Powered by a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 that produces 475 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque, 0-62 mph takes just 4.4 seconds, making it a ridiculously fast family hauler. If, however, the Dodge Durango SRT still isn't wild enough for you, Dodge has revealed a new range of cosmetic upgrades and Mopar performance parts at the Chicago Auto Show that will soon be available for the three-row SUV.
New for the 2018 Durango R/T and SRT is an optional dual-center stripe covers the front and rear fascias, hood, portions of the roof and the tailgate. Available in dealers from March, the stripe package will be available in five colors: Bright Blue, Flame Red, Gunmetal Low Gloss (metallic finish), Low Gloss Black and Sterling Silver (metallic finish). It will retail with an MSRP of $1,195. In addition, Mopar's new performance exhaust systems improve the flow, sound and overall performance. Chromium 304 stainless steel construction improves the exhaust system's corrosion resistance, and stainless-steel band-style clamps provide tight seals for easy installation.
Welded and polished 4-inch tips to provide an aggressive appearance, both exhaust systems were developed in in-line with Dodge//SRT engineers and designers. For the Durango SRT, the new performance exhaust system will be available in Q2 2018 for $1,850. The new Durango R/T system, on the other hand, is available now priced at $1,595. A Mopar performance lowering spring kit is also available to improve the Durango SRT's already impressive high-speed cornering stability. The new springs lower the SUV at an average of 15 mm (0.6 inches) closer to the pavement to improve handling.
As a result, performance gains include less rear-end squat during acceleration, less nose dive under braking, and reduced body roll while cornering. Available in March, the new performance lowering spring kit is priced at $325. Finally, the SRT Interior Appearance Group features a premium-wrapped instrument panel, Dinamica soft-touch headliner, and accent paint on speaker trim rings. It also adds a carbon-fiber instrument panel and door bezels. Priced at $2,495, it's available for orders in February. "Our Dodge//SRT performance enthusiasts are always looking for ways to make their vehicle their own," said FCA's Head of Passenger Cars Steve Beahm.
"The available stripes and carbon fiber throughout the interior really give Durango a custom look from the factory, and they are perfectly complemented by Mopar's available exhaust systems and performance springs, which make Durango even more fun to drive."
