Last month, Dodge debuted a new concept at the annual Spring Festival LX in Pomona, California. There was no press release nor any official photos, only a video taken by someone in attendance. What was that concept? A Dodge Charger widebody, which we presume is powered by the supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8. We reached out to Dodge seeking further clarification and were told the always frustrating "no comment on future product."

But now we have more proof of that car's existence. This spy video originally shot by Instagram user "eviil_srt" and it clearly shows a blue Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody out there in plain sight. More than likely it's being filmed for an upcoming promotional video. In addition to the obvious wider wheel arches and enhanced bumpers, notice the new body-colored rear spoiler, wider wheels, and a huge rear diffuser featuring a pair of integrated exhaust pipes.

Obviously, this video isn't of the highest quality but if you pause it enough times you'll notice the details we mentioned above. These new details also match, more or less, the thinly camouflaged concept from last month's event. There's also a rumor claiming this new Charger variant will offer a slight power boost over the "standard" Charger Hellcat's 707 hp.

Don't be surprised if it were to top off around 717 hp. Heck, there's even a second rumor claiming a Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye with upwards of 797 hp is on its way. We can't confirm anything at the moment but Dodge has always come through when it comes to building additional Charger (and Challenger) variants.

There's a range of 5.7- and 6.4-liter Hemi V8s available, so why not do the same with the Hellcat V8? Well, that's exactly what's been done for the Challenger, and now it appears it's the Charger's turn. Hopefully, official details will arrive shortly because summer is nearly here. Best time of year for burnouts and general mayhem.
