Inspired by the 1971 Challenger Shakedown Dodge brought to SEMA in 2016, the company has now added the new Shakedown Package to the Challenger's already impressive repertoire of old school cool. Available on the Challenger R/T Shaker, R/T Plus Shaker, and 392 HEMI Scat Pack Shaker, the Shakedown Package is basically an exterior stripe kit bundled with interior content. You also get a new Alpine audio system, white instrument gauges, and the wavy asymmetrical black stripe first seen on the SEMA concept.

The Shakedown Package will cost $995 and is available on the 5.7-liter V8 motivated R/T Shaker and R/T Plus Shaker, or on 392 HEMI Scat Pack Challengers that use FCA's robust 6.4-liter V8. With the R/T Shaker model, you get a new six-speaker Alpine audio system with a 275-watt amp, white instrument gauges, and the wavy asymmetrical black stripe. Jump up to the R/T Plus Shaker or the 392 HEMI and gain three extra speakers and a 506-watt amp. Dodge also decided to make its iconic B5 Blue and Plum Crazy Purple paint options available on all Challenger T/A, T/A Plus, and T/A 392 models. The colors are already available across the Charger's lineup. Dodge says the high-impact hues will be added to the entire Challenger lineup shortly.

B5 Blue and Plum Crazy have been two of the most desired paint colors for the Dodge Challenger since the car's iconic shape debuted in 1967. Enthusiasts clamored for the colors and Dodge has obliged, "Mopar-or-no-car"as they used to say. "Dodge has a rich history of using iconic heritage, high-impact colors and unique graphics to make our vehicles look custom, straight from the factory," said Steve Beahm, who heads up passenger car brands for FCA. "Whether a customer remembers B5 and Plum Crazy from when they were new in the '60s and '70s or they're a new customer today, these paint colors and unique Shaker stripes stand out in the crowd and speak to our customers' passion for their cars and their love of the Dodge and SRT brands."
