This whole luxury crossover coupe segment really got started with the BMW X6 back in 2008. Many BMW purists couldn't stand it (still can't) but the automaker got the last laugh. The X6 has been a massive sales success and now the second generation model has gone on sale. Even Mercedes-Benz has launched the GLE Coupe to compete in this hot-selling market. Although it's taken some time, Audi will soon launch an X6 fighter of its own, likely to be dubbed the Q6.

N/A

Audi head Rupert Stadler practically confirmed this fact to Autocar, recently stating that "We can imagine a model between the Q5 and the Q7…a coupe-like, four-wheel driven model." He may as well just have called it the Q6, because numerical sequence. Rendering artist Theophilus Chin has cooked up a couple of images of what the eventual Q6 could look like. The obvious starting point was the new Q7 but it's been given a coupe roofline here. We also think it looks like a jacked-up A7. Does this work or should Audi at least try to do something different?
