Maserati seems to be working overtime on its upcoming luxury SUV, which when it debuted in concept form was called the Kubang, but has since adopted the Levante nameplate. The new model has been spied testing once again, this time in the consistently cold climate of Scandinavia. Sharing the same platform and engines as the Ghibli and Quattroporte performance sedans, the Levante SUV will use its own Q4 all-wheel-drive system.

The test mule here is wearing the Ghibli's body with wider wheel arches and extra weight on the roof to simulate a higher center of gravity. Obviously the finished product won't look anything like this prototype, and hopefully we'll get a chance to see it in the very near future with the Levante tipped to debut in Geneva this March.
