Love the new RC F coupe but want a sedan? There's still hope.
The new Lexus RC F has certainly made waves. From its naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 to its radical exterior styling, this is no longer the boring and conservative Lexus we knew for so long. In the past Lexus worked hard to add some spice to its mainstream lineup, such as with the IS F (the LFA was a limited run halo car), but since the RC F is here, the automaker led us to believe that a new high-performance sports sedan was off the table.
However, a new report coming from Lexus Enthusiast is stating otherwise. Their source is a Japanese enthusiast magazine who’s claiming Lexus seems to have changed its mind about a next-gen IS F, and that a new model could arrive as early as next year. That timetable seems entirely plausible because the engine is ready to go (the RC F’s V8) and the new IS is already on sale. Just put the two together along with the necessary engineering modifications and you’re all set.
