Lotus, the company that has just recently signed rapper Swizz Beatz, is now creating a special edition Lotus Evora S using the iconic Queen singer Freddie Mercury as inspiration. The car was developed for a charity auction being held this Monday, marking on what would be the singer's 65th birthday. The car was designed drawing inspiration from Mercury's career. The bespoke yellow interior is said to reflect his 1986 stage costume.

As the press release so eloquently puts it, "The Freddie Mercury inspired theme represents A KIND OF MAGIC combination from the Lotus Design team: the power and prowess of the critically acclaimed Lotus with the dramatic styling befitting of a British rock legend. Featuring deep red and gold highlights this Evora S is well deserving of Freddie's autograph which is also included in the scheme." Former band-mate Brian May remarked: "Our friends at Lotus have donated a stunning Evora S for our auction which I know will be a massive fund-raiser for the Mercury Phoenix Trust. We cannot thank them enough for their generous support."

The 'Freddie Mercury Edition' Lotus Evora S is set to go under the hammer on September 5th at the Savoy Hotel. Proceeds from the sale of the British sports car will go to the Mercury Phoenix Trust, a charity that benefits those with HIV AIDS. The charity was set up by Mercury's former manager and band-mates. The charity will also sell off generous donations from such notable organizations like the Nelson Mandela Foundation and Top Gear.
