Drag Race: Lamborghini Urus Vs. Rolls-Royce Wraith

Video / Comments

Battle of the rich and famous.

The high-performance SUV has taken things to the extreme. These cars are not only better handling than ever before, but in a straight line, they'll obliterate most average sports cars. It's no wonder the racing and tuning scene has taken a liking to them. To top it all off, exclusive supercar and luxury car manufacturers have started producing their own versions of the super SUV. Point in case is this video where a Lamborghini Urus drag races a Rolls Royce Wraith. We've shown you a video where the Lamborghini crushes a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, but this is a different ballgame. So what can the raging bull do against this British bulldog? Let's find out.

But first lets quickly talk about the cars. The Lamborghini Urus is powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine producing an insane 641 hp and 627 lb-ft and will sprint to sixty in 3.6 seconds and 0-124 mph in 12.8 seconds. The Urus in the video has been modified with the Hennesey performance HPE750 performance upgrade kit which adds another 74 hp and 124 lb-ft.

The Rolls Royce Wraith on the other hand gets a 6.6-liter V12 engine which produces 624 hp and a massive 605 lb-ft of torque. The Rolls is a bit more sluggish of the line and will manage an official zero to sixty time of 4.4 seconds, but we've seen it done faster in independent testing.

So on to the race. The video shows the two cars lining up for the first race with the Wraith getting a slight head start. The race is over a soon as it begins; even with a head start, the Rolls gets overtaken as if it was standing still. The 40 mph rolling race starts off better, but by fourth gear, the Wraith is but a speck in the Urus' rearview mirror. A battle with a stock Urus would have been more interesting, but we suspect that the results would have been more or less the same. Urus 1 -0 Wraith.
