At the Palm Beach International Raceway in Florida, a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 takes on a Nissan GT-R under the apparent conditions of who can start slowest. The two supercars matched up on the famous quarter-mile drag strip, managing a couple of runs with the Veyron posting a time of 10.1 seconds at 139mph. Not a totally unacceptable time but given there's a 1001hp turbocharged 8-liter W16 engine under that beautiful blue and black body, we were hoping for a bit more.

Expectations for the GT-R were understandably low given its relatively miniature 3.8-liter V6 can only manage 530 horses, but with the right driver behind the wheel anything's possible. As they say, anyone can drive a fast car, but only a few can drive a car fast.
