Until ShelbySuperCars' Tuatara hits production, the Bugatti Veyron is still cock of the walk and with over 1K horses not many cars can claim to sit in its league. The Bugatti Veyron packs a 1,001hp 8.0-liter turbocharged W16 monster of an engine, while the Porsche boasts a flat-six turbocharged up to 750hp by Switzer. While the Porsche may be outmatched in power, however the Veyron is one heavy 'beached whale,' according to our Editor at Large.

The Veyron weighs 4,188lbs vs. the Porsche's 3,528lbs. When you break that down per ton, the difference is 525hp vs. 470hp, respectively. After a quarter-mile, only three tenths of a second separate the two combatants. What's more impressive is that the Veyron hits 0-62mph in 2.5 seconds. Who ya got: French vs. German engineering at their finest?
