E-Series Continues On For Now

Industry News

Some good things never die and the E-Series fits that description quite well. However, as Ford continues with its "One Ford" business plan, chances are the current E-Series will be phased out within the next few years. Some sources say this will happen by 2014. At that time, Ford plans to move its full-size van onto a single global platform. It will be the fourth generation of the Ford Transit, which has been sold in Europe since the 1960s.

Expect for the replacement to be a major step forward in terms of both adaptability (for specific market needs) and fuel economy, as there is a chance a turbo diesel option will be available in the US.
