The eBus-12 is coming to China and will eventually launch in Europe as the world's first electric bus.
Warren Buffet's pet project BYD is preparing to launch the world's first full-size all-electric bus. According to Fortune magazine, BYD is the 7th Most Admired Company in China due to their focus on innovation and green technology. The Chinese automaker has been mulling several models for sale in North America, however their top priority is about to come to fruition. The 40ft long fully electric eBus-12 has a range of 155 miles.
Set for China ie. the country that has 7 of the 10 most polluted cities in the world, the eBus could radically change how city transport is viewed. After its launch and initial application in China, BYD plans to launch the buses in capitals around Europe. The eBus-12 is set to debut at the Busworld event in Kortrijk, Belgium in a few weeks' time. No word yet on whether the buses will be made available for the U.S. market.
