ECD Automotive Design shared images and details of a charming classic Land Rover Defender 110 restomod that "defines classic romance" since it was designed by a husband-wife pair.

Restomodding has become a big business across the globe, with companies like ECD creating classic rides that are better than when they left the factory floor. ECD has its hand in several classic restorations but specializes in one specific car: the classic Land Rover Defender.

We've covered some of ECD's incredible builds in the past, including Defenders powered by Corvette engines, and this latest build, codenamed "Project Sweet Pea," encapsulates the essence of the ECD ethos. This upgraded Defender 110 is powered by an LT4 V8 engine and has all the bells and whistles you'd find in and on a modern SUV.

The exterior of this classic Landy features a Ford Brittany Blue Metallic paint job and sits on a set of 16-inch Land Rover HD5 pipe alloy wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires. At the front, this vehicle features a Kahn X-Lander grille painted in the same blue as the rest of the car but with white and yellow accents. The front-end also features an ARB Bull Bar with a winch and a marine-grade LED light bar square in white with clear lenses. A silver steering guard with custom engraving and a dual exhaust with dual side exits and strengthened axles are further special touches. Under the skin sits a GM LT4 V8 engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, an ECD air ride suspension system, and high-performance Alcon brakes.

Inside the cabin, this old Land Rover features a 2+2+4 seating layout and custom front heated Recaro Sportster seats finished in Caressa Porcelain with Chatham Navy accents with custom-embroidered headrests. The mid-row seats are also of the Recaro Sportster variety, and the load area gets four inward-facing seats. We think the Alligator leather seat inserts are a cool touch. The dashboard is wrapped in Caressa Porcelain leather, and the grab handles are wrapped in Chatham Navy leather. The carpeting is finished in Navy Blue.

Esquire gauges and an NRG Innovations ST-065 in Classic Wood Grain steering wheel look right at home too. Additional features include an extended center console with four cup holders, blue seatbelts, and billet aluminum air vents.

The audio system features a Kenwood touchscreen, Infinity Kappa speakers, and a subwoofer with silver accents. Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Sirius XM complete the list of modern connectivity features. It might look old-school, but this ride is right up there with the new kids on the block.
