The German tuning firm EDS is hard at work to try and offer the best to Opel buyers who are searching in desperation for more power. Although EDS is a relatively unknown tuner from Marl, Germany, it has nonetheless launched an impressive package for the most powerful version of the Astra with the 180-horsepower 1.6-liter turbocharged engine. The comprehensive performance upgrade includes a variety of modifications.
Engine tuning modifications include a new Garret GT28 turbocharger, ECU optimization, sports exhaust system, a new manifold, and other additions that double the 1.6-liter unit's output to 360-horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. EDS also adds a Quaife differential lock, a new sports clutch kit, high performance perforated brake discs and a sports suspension together with 20-inch wheels. Modifications to the exterior have remained subtle, but include a new upper and lower grille finished in black.
