EDS Opel Astra Turbo

Tuning

The German tuning firm EDS is hard at work to try and offer the best to Opel buyers who are searching in desperation for more power. Although EDS is a relatively unknown tuner from Marl, Germany, it has nonetheless launched an impressive package for the most powerful version of the Astra with the 180-horsepower 1.6-liter turbocharged engine. The comprehensive performance upgrade includes a variety of modifications.

Engine tuning modifications include a new Garret GT28 turbocharger, ECU optimization, sports exhaust system, a new manifold, and other additions that double the 1.6-liter unit's output to 360-horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. EDS also adds a Quaife differential lock, a new sports clutch kit, high performance perforated brake discs and a sports suspension together with 20-inch wheels. Modifications to the exterior have remained subtle, but include a new upper and lower grille finished in black.
