This one goes out to those EV fans (and we know there are some). The Electric RaceAbout EV has reportedly circled the famous Nurburgring in a time of just 9 minutes and 8 seconds. The Electric RaceAbout barely lost out to the Peugeot EX1. That EV made its way around the 'Ring in a time of 9 minutes and 1.338 seconds. And not all EV's are given the same performance abilities as the Electric RaceAbout, which cranks out an impressive 340 horses.

Under the hood, the RaceAbout generates its power from a 33KW lithium-titanate battery pack that sends power to four wheel-mounted electric motors, giving the EV a claimed top speed of 136 mph. Not too shabby for an electric vehicle. The vehicle was built entirely by students at the Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Science; quite the opposite of a large automotive corporation. Our prediction is that we're going to be seeing a lot more of these EV supercar hopefuls attempting to outdo one another on a regular basis.
