The Tesla Cybertruck looks like something straight from a science fiction future. You know, such as "Blade Runner". There's no doubt Tesla CEO Elon Musk intended for his all-electric pickup truck's design to be dramatically different from not only other trucks but all vehicles in general. He succeeded, for better or worse. The Cybertruck's outlandish design is also a reflection of Musk's personality. The guy comes up with both brilliant (SpaceX) and outright strange (the flamethrower) initiatives. Some are a combination of both, such as launching his very own first-generation Tesla Roadster into space on a direct course towards (and now past) Mars.

And now Musk has hinted that Mars is back in the picture. A Twitter user asked Musk whether the upcoming SpaceX Starship will have a Cybertruck on board during its 2022 cargo mission to the red planet.

Musk's reply was a sunglass-wearing smiley face emoji. That was neither a direct 'yes' nor a 'no,' but rather a hint. Heck, the Twitter user may have just given Musk the idea. As crazy as it might sound, don't bet against the billionaire making this happen. Ever so conveniently, 2022 is the year when Cybertruck production and deliveries should be in full swing.

Of course, there could be production delays, a situation Tesla is no stranger to, but launching a Cybertruck on a mission to Mars inside his own rocket would be the ultimate publicity stunt.

We all know Musk loves publicity stunts. A trip to Mars could also serve as a potential distraction in case of production problems or any other issue that may arise. But say if Musk does make this happen and at least one Cybertruck blasts off for Mars, could it actually function on the surface? Could it survive Mars' frigid cold temperatures?

So many questions for an event that's not even officially confirmed. Just don't put it past Musk to carry out this seemingly crazy idea.
