End of the Explorer Sport Trac is Near

With the next Ford Explorer about ready to launch, the Explorer Sport Trac version will cease to exist. The simple answer is that the current Explorer uses a traditional body-on-frame construction. The new Explorer is moving to a new unibody car-based platform. As the Explorer Sport Trac was never a sales hit, Ford feels it can depart with this model quite easily. Now that there is a growing demand for more fuel efficient SUVs and Crossovers, Ford has decided to radically change its Explorer.

The result may alter the SUV landscape as we've known it and specific vehicles will no longer make the cut. The Explorer Sport Trac is one of them.
